Band
Focus
Band's focus is to create instrumentalist that demonstrate good musical skills. Students learn the necessary skills for instrumental performance as well as musical skills and instrumental concepts. They perform skills, music, and band literature throughout the year. Basic music concept such as rhythm notation, music note identification, instrumental fingering, posture, and tone production will be covered in the class. The band also performs a winter and spring concert as well as participate in many events. The instruments taught are flute, clarinet, alto and tenor saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and percussion. No experience is necessary only the world and desire to play an instrument.
Our Mission
“The mission of the band program has as its primary goal the continuous musical development of each student. It aims to develop the students technical and musical proficiency of a band instrument within a fun enthusiastic environment. Band aims to teach each student good self-esteem, respect, disciplined, creative problem-solving and an appreciation of the arts through music”
